Email Me: steve@thenokianetwork.com

Hello, my name is Steve Rowlands, and I’m the ugly one in the photo above.

I was born in Coventry, and grew up in Kenilworth.

I joined the Royal Air Force in April 1998 aged 19, and qualified as an electronics technician.  I have worked on kit such as the Type 92 Radar, Watchman Radar, Cossor Air Traffic Control radio’s and Harris 1140 HF Transmitter.

I served Queen & Country for 9 years, including being part of the largest NARO (Nuclear Accident Response Oraganisation) exercise ever staged, and serving Operation Telic in Iraq in 2003 & 2004.

I left the RAF in 2007 and now I am a satellite communications engineer, ensuring that people all over the world are able to phone their mates, and make sure that their email gets to it’s destination super fast.

In my spare time, I like to blog here about mobile phones, particularly Symbian devices, and try to just pick out the most interesting points to me, and hopefully you too.

I also have a personal blog as well (detailing some of my military exploits in a bit more detail), which you can find here, although I haven’t updated that in a while, and I should really pull my finger out and start doing so more often.
