e72

The latest device in Nokia’s corporate aimed E-Series range is the fantastic looking E72, and is now available exclusively, until the end of 2009, on Vodafone.  Following on from the massive success that was it’s predecessor the E71.

Now, because the E71 was such a huge seller, not only in the business arena, but also in the mainstream consumer market, Nokia have obviously not wanted to fettle too much with a match winning design.

This Qwerty styled monoblock device, takes on it’s predecessor’s good looks, and updates almost all of it’s features to bring it into line with the advancements in Nokia’s strategy, with a few styling tweaks on top.

It moves up to Symbian 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 as the OS, it adds in a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with VGA video recording abilities, upgraded 3G radio’s to allow data throughput of up to 10.2 megabits on HSDPA,  active noise cancellation during voice calls, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an improved talk time of 12.5 hours, up from 10.5 hours.  Also, and for the first time, the addition of an optical navi key.

The E72 is available for free on all business contracts from Vodafone, and is also available for free on standard consumer contracts of £30 per month and above.  No doubt, you will have to pay if you want to upgrade your current contract, depending on circumstances.
